It focuses on low resource usage, excellent sound quality, and supports a wide range of audio formats. It was originally built on Beep Media Player, which is on XMMS.

alsactl

Manual page and help for the alsactl linux command. Alsactl is a tool for controlling advanced settings for ALSA sound card drivers that support multiple sound cards. If your sound card also has functions that cannot be controlled from a mixer program, you can use these commands to control these functions as well.

alsabat

Manual page and help for the alsabat linux command. ALSABAT (ALSA Basic Audio Tester) is a simple command-line utility designed to automate the testing of audio drives and sound servers with little human interaction. ALSABAT can be used to test sound quality, stress test characteristics, and sound testing before and after a change in PM status.

jobs (built-in Bash command)

alsa_out

Manual page and help for the alsa_out linux command. Alsa_out is a JACK client that opens a specific audio interface (different from the one used by the JACK server, if any) and moves audio data between the JACK ports and the interface. alsa_in provides data from the interface (possibly for voice recording); Alsa_out provides data for it (for playback).

mysqld_multi
