Most of the tutorials on this page can only be executed from the command line (CLI), that is, typed into the terminal. Therefore, it is worth mentioning a few words about terminals. In this article, I will not go into the technical details, just a brief, comprehensive introduction to the subject. More detailed information can be found in the encyclopedia.
NTP
Introducing NTP (Network Time Protocol) in the encyclopedia. NTP (Network Time Protocol), network time protocol in Hungarian, is a network protocol for synchronizing computer clocks. The purpose of NTP is to synchronize all computers using the protocol with the Conventional Coordinated Universal Time in a fraction of a second. It uses a modified version of Marzullo's algorithm to select accurate time servers and aims to mitigate the effects of varying network latency. The protocol is usually able to maintain synchronization on the Internet in a few hundredths of a second, and on local networks (under ideal conditions) the synchronization time can reach a speed of one thousandth of a second.
